The origin of this article was frustration and anger, but soon my emotions where turned to sadness and sympathy.
It all started with what I felt was terrible customer service. It felt like everywhere I went and any business came into contact with, either didn't know what they were doing or they simply did not care about the customer. I'm sorry to say this but at first I thought this was either because of bad training, bad management, stupidity, laziness or they just didn't care. I'm sorry, but this is how I felt.
Then while writing this article that had a completely different ending at first, I realized what the problem was: Hope… This was the problem. How profound this is, I don’t know, but for me it explains a lot. People don't have hope any more. So many people feel helpless these days and they feel they have no reason for living. This then results in a lack of motivation and sympathy. This then leads to one doing everything half hearted, which then is the reason for the lack of service I experienced. It was actually a cry for help, but me being self-focused, only saw how it affected me instead of actually trying to find out how I could maybe help them.
The first question any child asks is:
“why?”
We are born with the question beaming from inside of all of us. It is that yearning for God and our purpose, whether we know it or not. I believe we all want to know why are we here even if it is only in our sub-concious, but unfortunately "the world" isn't doing a great job telling us the truth.
The world tells us that we are millions of years old and share common ancestors with apes and earthworms. Also that sex, drugs and “anything goes” is the way to go. We are told that we decide what is right or wrong and that anything different from this is weird or wrong. We are told that the only way to be happy is through money or fame. This to me is heartbreaking, not so much that this is what we are told, but the fact that so many believe this and use this as the guideline to their lives.
I believe this is why so many people don’t put in any effort when helping others, and why so few few people know how to live selfless lives. According to worldly logic, there is no reason to do anything except anything that promotes self-satisfaction.
The only solution to this is:
Realizing Jesus
This means knowing who He is, accepting His offer and realizing how it impacts our purpose.
We need to fight against our ignorant selves that don't want to know the truth. Unfortunately so many people have this attitude of: Ignorance is bliss. This is just sticking our head in the ground and it doesn't solve any problems. We are called to make a difference and share The Only True Hope.
Knowing God does not answer every question there is, but it does answer life and puts you on the right path to answer the remaining questions. Jesus gives life in abundance and a Powerful one at that, filled with Love and Hope.
